Development Proton Pack Electronics Kit

Workshop clearance: older development proton pack electronics kits. We're clearing out surplus development hardware that is no longer needed in the workshop. A starting point for builders who want to supply their own supporting components and complete their own installation.

Choose your configuration

• Blank PCB only: $10. Unpopulated controller PCB only. No electronic components, ESP32, DFPlayer, microSD card, cyclotron ring, power cell, or wiring are included.
• Built PCB only - no other parts: $20. Assembled controller PCB only. No ESP32, DFPlayer, microSD card, cyclotron ring, power cell, or wiring are included.
• Without ESP, DFPlayer and SD card: $50. Includes the assembled controller PCB, 40-LED cyclotron ring with wiring, and power cell LED board with wiring. Supply your own ESP32 module, DFPlayer audio module, and microSD card.
• With ESP, DFPlayer and SD card: $65. Includes the assembled controller PCB with ESP32 module, DFPlayer audio module, and microSD card, plus the 40-LED cyclotron ring with wiring and power cell LED board with wiring.

Requirements when adding your own modules

When supplying your own modules, use the following compatible components:

• ESP32: ESP32 CH340 Type-C Development Board, 30-pin. View ESP32 board
• DFPlayer: The module must be labeled DFPlayer Mini HW-247A, V0.5.1. View DFPlayer module
• microSD card: 32 GB or smaller. A 128 MB card is sufficient for the audio files. View microSD card

Firmware, pinouts, and audio

Using the supplied pinouts, you can configure your own Arduino code for this PCB. Alternatively, pair the PCB with a 30-pin ESP32 module and use the Fun Pack V1.1 or Fun Pack V2 firmware available through the RIFT Updater.

Audio files are also available to download through the RIFT Updater.

This is an older development kit and is not a complete proton pack electronics package. Only the components listed for your selected configuration are included. No mounts, switches, or other components are included. Additional parts and installation work are required to complete a build.
